Probably also happy to continue if she had not started having back problems.
Suddenly, like thunder on a clear day, the doctor forbade her to continue working and she found herself sitting at home … slowly sinking into depression … unable to sleep properly … experiencing confusion and stress .
She told me all this before we entered the living water.
During the treatment, I realized that she had actually received a gift. The fact that she must stop what she has done to date, stop the automatic conduct … the fact that it is her time to choose what to do with her free time … is a gift.
She never asked herself what she wanted. Did not really choose for herself.
In our post-treatment conversation I shared this insight with her and she immediately agreed with me.
It’s always something I avoided … this matter of choosing … because it’s always terribly stressed me out
But now, I realize that all I have to do is rebuild the framework for myself and this time just from the things I choose.
Think for a moment about an animal that has been in a cage all its life … how does it behave when it is released?
Most of the time, it will freeze in place, examine the environment with suspicion and only then will it begin to move forward.
This is what happens to us, sometimes, as soon as the boundaries that have given us security disappear … as soon as we are free.
Sometimes, we see only the difficulty, the scarcity and fail to see more broadly.
All the noise and confusion she experienced, the living water washed away from her and she opened up to a broader view of her situation.
Remember, difficulty often brings with it great opportunity.
We are in a world of choice, every day, every moment.
